The first Northern Virginia Telework Summit was held Monday, November 19, 2012 in Manassas. The two-hour event, sponsored by the Prince William Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee and Telework Task Force and hosted by Del. Richard L. Anderson, was slated to discuss how teleworking can benefit the state.
What we like most about this Telework Summit is that the general public was invited to attend via the Internet. Thanks to Cisco technology, the event was live streamed making it available to the Commonwealth and the rest of the world. Talk about embracing remote access and modeling best practice behavior for online collaboration!
Proponents of the Summit hope that a Northern Virginia telework infrastructure will help ease the state’s congested roadways, while also providing some financial relief across all agencies.
We look forward to bringing you feedback on the results of the Northern Virginia Telework Summit in the weeks to come.
